Retirement Reimaged
This passion project’s goal was to create an inspirational design poster. My research explored the lives of famous retirees and their accomplishments during their golden years. To my surprise, many didn’t just jet off to Florida; they embraced new beginnings.
For instance, former President Harry Truman received an honorary Civic Law degree from Oxford University at 72 after taking night courses. Cancer survivor Barbara Hillary became one of the oldest people—and the first African American—to reach the North Pole at 75. Grandma Moses began painting at 77, while legendary blues singer Alberta Hunter made a remarkable comeback at 82. Edna Massimilla, author of "Heaven's Very Special Child," continued playing the piano, writing poetry, and singing to her friends up until 105.
